We have now finished building the gates and they have been sent out for galvanizing. Most states have at least one galvanizer, where high way gaurd rails and stuff like that are treated. The proccess imerses the steel peice in a hot alkaly solution to remove grease and dirt. Then everything is fluxed and dipped in molten zinc. The zinc coat the steel and formes a chemical bond which makes the finished product very weather resistant. So, here's one gate on a pallet at the galvanizing facility. All of the holes will need to be redrilled and tapped and some of the surfaces will get cleaned up. After everything is fitted back together it will all be taken apart one last time for primer and paint.
